Include a post with a newbie’s guide to anything. Perhaps you write about parenting or even working online. What would you say to the new parent or online worker? How would you guide them? Tell a humorous story
I admit, some people have it and other people don’t. If people find you funny, capitalize on that and write a humorous blog post. Writing out a story or even that happened to you with plenty of laughable word images brings readers.
Recycle or re-edit old posts
Everyone needs to do this on their blog, especially if you blog for several years. Blogging requires going back to old posts and reworking them, or even adding more content that you learned.
Blogging is a blurred line between current events and life as we know it. Readers and their interests and level of knowledge changes. We need to keep up with that as bloggers.
Insert a Photo Story
Do you have a story to tell in photos? Gather your pictures together and then write a story about them. Make it interesting and engaging to draw your readers in to the story.
Highlight a Charity or Event
Do you know about a worldwide or local charity that serves people in your blogging genre? Write about them and/or a localized event around them.
Write a Personal Book Review
Create a sort of sales page that tells readers all about any books you published. Write it on a blog page as well as a blog post page to double up. Add fewer details on the blog page, but write more details on the blog post. Make sure to include a link and a photo of your book cover.

We all love apps, and everyone wants an updated list of computer apps to help them do something. Use your blog genre to create an amazing list of computer apps with links.
Share a Discouragement

People find posts like these helpful sometimes.
Write a Glossary
This can be a glossary of terms used in your blog genre, but sometimes you can write a whole post on one term used in your blog genre that many people get confused. For example, read my post on what blogging is.
Highlight a List of Authors
You might write a list of blog authors or book authors. For that matter, you could write a list of poetry or other literary authors. Whatever list you choose, stay in your blog genre, and write a short blurb about each author with a link to their blog or their work on Amazon.
Describe Your Holiday Traditions
Write about your family’s holiday traditions, such as what sort of foods you eat or whether or not you teach your kids that Santa is real. I am not talking about telling everyone you will be at Aunt Susie’s house at 7:00 p.m. in Roanoke, Virginia.
Talk about some timeless family traditions and what you did in the past. Why was it special, and what happened that made it that way?
Share a Favorite Family Recipe
Share a favorite family recipe that other people would like to make for themselves. Do you have a cultural recipe that others would be interested in? Share this with others as well.

Write a Topic Roundup of Posts
Do you write regularly on your blog in a certain topic? Write a blog post roundup of those topics and then add in the links. Bring them all together with an introduction and conclusion. Add in the necessary details, and you have a nice blog post.

Write the Facts About Something
Next, share ten facts people need to know about any topic in your blog genre. Write a highlight of things a new person who comes to your blog should know before they do something.

Write About a Hot Topic
Choose a hot topic in your blog genre. This doesn’t necessarily have to be a quote from social media (get permission if you do), but it can be an idea circulating around several of your social media groups. For me, it was a blog post on how our family’s civil rights were violated because my son is special needs.
Offer time-saving shortcuts
Do you have a list of time management shortcuts or general time-savers? Write out your list and share it. If you list products, then add in links to Amazon. Make your list unique and enticing enough to read and click.

I have not seen many blog giveaways lately. I am not sure why, but I have done this before. Find a product or service, then launch a giveaway. Use Rafflecopter or a similar service to get emails and social media shares. Some people love to participate in giveaways and are happy to spread the word.
Write a Series
While this is sort of similar to a roundup of posts, this is more like a monthly or weekly blog post plan. For example, write Christmas countdown posts for December. Or, write a list of Countdown to Summer blog posts.
Create a Poll or a Survey
Using another hot topic, write a poll that elicits a reaction. Or, take a survey on social media, then post the results and write about it.
Share a Day in The Life of…
Let me be clear, when I say to share a day in your life, I don’t mean be unsafe. You can share things like A Day in the Life at The Zoo, or How Many Hours a Day Do You Need to Write to Make Money? Make a point without revealing details such as your location, time or daily routine and putting it into print. It can still be done in this way.
Write a List of Resources
Everyone needs resources. And, no matter what your blog genre is, you can create and explain a list of resources that help others. For example, you might list the locations to find the best makeup or clothes online. Or, list places parents should go to find the best strollers for their kids.
Answers Regularly Asked Questions
Once your blog has run for a while, you notice that people ask similar or same questions of you. They might message you, or something. I would add in a repeated question into one of your blog posts (or write a new one) and an answer to it.
Write the Order of Something
Perhaps you need to explain something in your blog genre, and you need to write the order of it. You write what happens first, second, third and so on. Describe events in a specific order that must occur this way. Mine would be how to write a blog post.
Compare Two or More Things
You might also write a blog post about two or more things you need to compare. If you write for parents and want to break down the best high chairs, you write about the differences between two or more high chairs. You might compare prices, set-up, cleanliness and usability.
Write About the Cause and Effect of Something
This may be a more creative post, but write about if you do something in your blog genre, what would happen next. For example, if you improve your writing with these amazing blog post ideas, you may increase your blog traffic. Right? I sure hope so!
