Blogging for success really isn’t for wimps. No matter what the stats say, you must keep blogging to succeed. It may take much longer than you think, and the whole blog may even seem to fail at times. But, honestly, failure is not an option.
People lose traffic overnight at various seasons and learning to vary your traffic sources really helps. But, most of all, working on your blog no matter what the issue holds it up better than anything else.
Plenty of people over the years have launched into blogging, thrown up their hands, and walked away when things appear to go stale. They may throw money into it they do not have, or believe the only way out is to pour yet more money into their blog to make it work.
And, let’s face it, it becomes difficult to know what the right thing to do is when so many people claim to have all the answers you need. They offer their service, idea, or package for a price, and you buy it. You think, well, they made it to success. Surely, they know what they are doing!
But, the thing about blogging for success is that your blog, your keywords, and your resources are completely different than other people’s resources. Further, just because someone sells a program or solution does not mean they really have the answer you need. Some people sell those ideas just to make a buck, but they have no idea how to really make a blog work.
So, how do you keep blogging for success?
You simply find the one thing holding your blog success back. It may be a mindset or a technical issue. Further, you may need to decide if you really want this whole blogging thing to work out.
People’s opinions about blogging range from “what a joke” to “people are lying about how much money they make.” Honestly, it simply does not matter how much money anyone makes from blogging, because you are not them.
I can pass down my foolproof method of blogging for success, but it simply may not work for you and your circumstances. Think of it this way. When you watch television ads, do you believe them? Do they hold the answers you want? The answer is, not really.
People sell all sorts of things that do not really meet your needs. They promise you that it will, but in the end, their ideas are not your solution. You find out that all they wanted to do is make money, not offer you a viable solution.
That is the thing about blogging for success. You offer ideas with integrity. Sure you can sell something, but make sure it has value and fulfills what you promised.
Persist in the midst of failure
We all know this, but many people believe that the hard work and determination it takes to complete anything simply is not worth the effort.
It is deflating and defeating to fail, true enough. The struggle to be heard in a sea of a million voices in the blogging world is real. Further, to have a story to tell that no one listens to is disheartening when you are not heard over the loudness of everyone else’s voices.
At this point, you can only admit defeat or change your tactic. Make lemons out of lemonade, because persistence is where it is at.
If you know that you are called to write and write you must, you don’t just give up. Even worse, you cannot just walk away! Choose to outblog them. Outwrite them. Even out-pin them! You don’t have to be skeezy about it, because your persistence will pay off.
Finding a new direction, a new venue or even a new place to say what you know must be said drives you forward. And if you push on to hone your message then you will succeed in time.
When it all comes down to it, you must tell the story you were born to tell. Even if you need to re-package your message. Don’t give up, but press on.
Here are some other things you can do in the face of your blogging failures.
Improve Your Writing
Yep, go back to square one and improve how you express yourself. Did you say what you meant to say? Or, did you really edit your work as you should have? Use Grammarly. Even the free edition is better than nothing.
We all fail to see the forest through the trees some days, but other days it is the other way around. We see the forest through the trees but fail to see the trees all around us.
Check your work and then check it again.
Identify Your Audience
Picture your audience. Who is your main reader? What does he or she look like? Further, what are they interested in reading. Hone in on them first and then write for that audience.
How does your message come across? Cut to the chase and put yourself in your reader’s shoes. Are you really saying what you think you are saying?
Are you hooking the right people with your catchy phrases, or are you attracting folks you really don’t need or who won’t really hear what you are saying?
Remember, your message has an audience and you want to hone in on them.
Ignore the haters and shamers
Geez, the creeps are everywhere. Chances are if someone spends all of their time putting other people down, they are the ones failing in the background. Narcissists, sociopaths, and bullies always trip themselves up.
Learn your craft and your skill, and stick to the message you have. Naysayers can scream at you. They may even tell you to shut up, but they are simply looking in the mirror.
Their subversive jealousy will ruin them before it ruins you, so don’t let them discourage you from blogging for success.
They are the imposters, not you.
Tighten your SEO
I haven’t written much about this, but whatever keyword or words you seem to trend for, monopolize on that. Insert that keyword into your blog posts and titles. Make it a priority in your online social media.
Sure, you can sign up for free keyword searches, and it may pay off, but most of the time, the truth stands out in your blog data. What post or posts get the most traffic? How can you use the keywords to bring in more traffic?
Re-Prioritize Your Schedule
When you have a goal to finish a book or writing project, you write. You don’t interrupt your work. You write. Why? Because this remains the only way your personal message will get out there.
Writing blog posts must be a part of your blogging time well-spent. Sure, there will be technical details and marketing to tend to, but blogging for success means mastering the writing.
You skip text messages and social media while you write. Even Aunt Sally needs to wait to hear back from you because writing for a writer sometimes means bread and butter, not fun and frivolous.
A half-written piece of work or book will not get finished if you find other things to do other than write to the finish.
Stick to your writing schedule and routine and only allow emergencies to get in the way. If you worked at a regular job would your boss give you time off to talk to Aunt Sally? Probably not.
Blogging for success is really worthwhile work.
Read other people’s blogs
It goes without saying that reading and commenting on other people’s blogs helps you blog for success. I mean, if you see how other people are finding real success, then you find some of your own answers.
No, you do not need to copy their blog but look for ways to improve your own blogging technique. Find your voice and contribute in your way. Then, share your insights on their blogs.
Finally, failure is the road to blogging for success
No one gets to the top of the heap the easy way. That is unless they buy their way to the top. But, the truth of the matter is that they are not the ones doing the hard work. They are not entrepreneurs building a blog for success.
Failure means you roll up your sleeves and re-work what you did. If your writing or your whole project fell flat then you simply need to stop what you were doing and take stock.
You are not an imposter or a failure.
When the rubble is all around you, that means that it is time to rebuild what you started and keep trying until you succeed.
Failure simply means you are launching into blogging for success.
So, be brave. Fix what is not working, and try again. I am cheering for you. You’ve got this!
